You belong before you begin

Why we exist
Communities grow healthier when people know one another, notice one another, and support one another.
Older adults deserve more than access to exercise. They deserve opportunities to remain engaged, useful, encouraged, and connected.
Rise. Walk. Renew. helps churches, senior centers, and neighborhoods become places where people can age with dignity, purpose, health, and belonging.
Walking is one expression. Community is our focus.

Meet our founder
Sherma is the founder of Rise. Walk. Renew., a community wellness initiative that grew out of two church communities who taught her that lasting wellness is not built around perfect bodies or perfect plans—it grows when people are welcomed, encouraged, and given a place to belong.
The Friday group taught her how to build a walking program. The Tuesday group taught her how to build a community wellness model.
